Overview

St Chad’s Sanctuary is a local Birmingham charity offering support to asylum seekers and refugees.

In addition to our ESOL classes, we also provide clothing, food parcels, toiletries, advice and signposting to other support services.

If you join an ESOL course at St Chad’s, you will have access to:

  • free tea, coffee and biscuits
  • help with travel costs (for students who live more than 2 miles away)
  • trips and social events.

We prioritise recently-arrived asylum seekers who are not yet eligible for college and asylum seekers whose claims have been refused. We will also consider requests from other asylum seekers and refugees whose individual circumstances make it difficult for them to attend college.
